SEEBURGER Automotive B2B/EDI
Solution ‘Honda Approved’
Atlanta,
Ga., May
8, 2004 – SEEBURGER, the leading global B2B/EDI integration provider, today
announced that it has passed one of the most rigorous electronic data
interchange (EDI) approvals in the automotive industry, Honda North America’s extensive
testing process. SEEBURGER managed the EDI and communication portions of the
testing and partnered with Edibar Systems, Inc., (Troy, MI.) for barcode/labeling and ASN shipping
verification requirements.
“We’re pleased to
welcome SEEBURGER into our team of approved software providers,” said James Murphy, assistant manager, Purchasing
Division, Honda North America. “They successfully completed our testing process
in the shortest timeframe to date, and are approved according to our most
recent implementation guidelines for EDI transactions and bar code
requirements.“
Honda, a global leader in automotive
manufacturing with production capacity in its Marysville, Ohio plant of 440,000
units, requires all of its original equipment (OEM) parts suppliers to use an
approved integrated EDI/barcode labeling solution. In order to attain the “Honda
Approved Software“ rating, software vendors such as SEEBURGER must complete a comprehensive
four-phase approval process to verify they are complying with Honda's
requirements for electronic data validity and barcode label conformance.
“This
is a tremendous accomplishment,” said Scott Lewin, President, SEEBURGER, Inc. “With
Edibar Systems, Inc." assistance, we’ve achieved a prestigious approval from
Honda North America, demonstrating our in-depth understanding of US automotive
EDI and displaying, once again, that SEEBURGER technology is the most efficient
and dependable solution for the automotive industry.”
